It has a grand adventure, with a funny backdrop

This book has to be a classic. Don Diego is really funny while trying to be romantic. While in costume he is as romantic as a man could be. It as a classic story line. I wish there were more books out there with that good of a story line.

A TRUE MASTERPIECE

BETTER THAN ANY OF THE MOVIE OR TELEVISION TELLINGS OF THE ZORRO LEGEND. THIS IS A TRUE ORIGINAL. HAS TO GO ON ANYONE'S LIST OF ALL TIME GREATEST ADVENTURE/ACTION YARNS. I PUT IT UP THERE WITH "THE THREE MUSKETEERS" OR "THE BLACK ARROW". GOOD CONTRAST OF CHARACTERIZATIONS. THE FINAL FIGHT SCENE WHERE DON DIEGO TAKES ON CAPTAIN RAMON AND HIS MEN IS ABSOLUTELY HEARTPOUNDING. THE "MARK OF ZORRO" WILL KEEP YOU RIVETED FROM BEGINNING TO END. A GREAT STORY, MASTERFULLY TOLD!

An absolute classic!

Who could resist giving this book five stars? (Obviously, not many!) Johnston McCulley presents the first appearance of Zorro throughout the world in this classic novel of old Spanish California. Originally published in 1919 and entitled "The Curse of Capistrano", this novel is one of the most adventure-packed stories you're probably ever going to find! If you haven't read this book, you should!!!

THE Heart-pounding chase of your lifetime!

EXCITEMENT HERE! Senor Zorro is the Spanish version of Robin Hood, but with a twist! No one knows that the wealthy, skitterish, and languid laughingstock of the pueblo (Don Diego Vega) is really the notorious Highwayman.

Ordered by his father to marry, Diego tries to win the heart of a beautiful senorita, Lolita, but she is in love with the bandit highwayman: Zorro. Diego tries in his own dis-interested way to win her heart, although he abhors making any effort; save getting into his clothes in the morning. Deemed as the only twenty-four year old in the pueblo to yawn 200 times a day, Lolita will have none of him!

Meanwhile: Senor Zorro appears and disappears like the wind, serving justice to those who oppress the weak and rob from the innocent. When he is not fighting off soldiers or leading them on a wild goose chase, Zorro sneaks his way around to whisper love to the woman of his dreams: Lolita! Can these lovers ever know what the other truely desires?

Don Diego will have you cracking up as you read, and Senor Zorro will keep you on the edge of your seat. What more can someone ask from a tale of adventure and respect served with a swift blade?

This is the coolest book I have ever read.

This is the coolest book I have ever read. It is the must have item for Zorro fans. It is choked full of action and a lot of fencing! It is about a man named Diego de la Vega. He is secretly an outlaw named Zorro. He finds his true love, fights the bad guy and has a pretty action packed life! I give The Mark of Zoro a five star rating.!
