Fun but.....

I found the gunslinger dark tower to be a very good book but I wasn't able to grasp the story completely. I didn't know why he was following the man in black or why he wanted to go to the tower. I enjoyed the initial storyline but I couldn't fully appreciate where the story was going.

His best -- without a doubt

This series holds my attention to the degree that I'm reading it for the 3rd time. I've read every single thing that SK has written and this incredibly written series is the best of the best. The story is fascinating, it leaves the reader wanting to know absolutely everything about the main characters and keeps me on the edge of my seat. He's said there will be 6 or 7 -- I hope he continues to write installments until he's 80 -- even at a dollar a page!

With Literature this enjoyalble I would have actually READ the books in HIgh School Lit not the Cliff Notes.

This series of books is just plain enthrawling. I had gotten into this addictive little series since I was in High School (late 80's), and, have been checking all the bookstores yearly to get another "hit" of Roland and the gang. Needless to say...when Wizards came out I HAD to fork over the [money] + tax (LOL) to get that book! They are wonderful stories. I do not always understand the complexities sometimes (too long of a stretch between books)but, that just makes it more interresting. Just makes me want to dig the other books out and read them again. (which I probably will lol) Even better.. I'll go buy the book on tape series... it sounds very well made.

The Dark Tower Series

Having read the whole series up to date, I can truly say that these stories are not only thrilling but a page turner from beginning to end. There are so many different scenerio's that could happen in this book that it could go on forever! My favorite book so far is when the gunslinger goes back to his childhood as a young lad. My advice is to read from the first book to the last one written though otherwise you'll be confused if you don't know the full story behind the gunslinger and his friends.
