Every woman should read it!

Actually, every person should read it. This book provides so much information about how to handle your finances. I just recently graduated college and am also newly engaged, so this book has definitely helped us to plan our lives. This is information you DONT get in high school, undergrad, or grad school unless you're a finance major. Everyone should read one of Bach's Smart **** Finish Rich books.

Tools for Achieving Financial Freedom

Do you know how much money you will have once your retirement age comes around? Do you know how much your social security benefits will be per year? Do you have an IRA AND some kind of work-related account like a 401K? If yes, do you understand how your money is being invested? If you are married, are you taking an equal part in managing your household's finances? If you have kids but you were to die next week, would your kids be able to survive financially? Are you debt-free? Do you have money put away in case you were not able to work for five months?... If you answered, "No" to any of these questions, this is the book for you. It absolutely changed my life and I went from being $4,000 in debt to being debt-free and having $12,000 saved up for my retirement within 5 months of reading this book. Thanks to David Bach, I went from worrying about my financial future to feeling secure knowing that I will have more than enough to retire on. I just wish that I could have read this book sooner. It is a very fast and easy read that can give you the motivation and information on how to take the reins to your financial future and steer yourself toward a life of financial security-- where even someone like me who comes from a poor, debt-ridden family can create the first generation of wealth. This book is amazing; if you can't afford to buy it, check it out from the library, like I did. It is also a great book to give as a gift to young ladies, college students/graduates and anyone else for that matter. Check it out and you'll never regret that you did.

DO NOT PASS THIS BOOK UP!!!

David Bach is very honest and straight forward about money without being patronizing. He's a realist and explains why it's important, in fact more important, for women to take charge of their finances.

It was his grandmother who taught him at an early age the value of money. When he later grew up to discover that so many women in America did not have the same savvy, he was inspired to write "Smart Women Finish Rich". The first 1/3 of his book points out how so few Americans today don't have enough money saved to retire by age 65, usually attributed to ignorance, overspending or sheer miunderstanding about how investment works. Even high-income wealthy people come into his office financially destitute because of poor financial habits.

He explains in layman's terms everything from a Small-Cap fund and annuities to the mistakes of leaving your IRA account to a living trust when you die.

Best thing of all about this book: He asks the individual to address what the value of money means to them. Most people say "security", and then he asks them to define in specific terms what they mean. Answers have ranged from "Financial freedom to do whatever I want when I want and how I want" to "Having free time to spend with my kids" to "Doing what the Lord Wants me to do." This is a very practical book with a lot of heart. This is book written specifically for women in a tone that we can understand and appreciate. I'd advise men to read it as well.

A must have. Don't go without it.

Excellent and easy to follow and implement

I am 36 years old and had never had a clue about managing or investing my money properly and responsibly. This book is soooo good. It is so easy to follow and it is written in a way it doesn't let you make up excuses for not starting immediately to take action. I am only sorry I didn't bump into this 10 years ago and happy it is not too late for it to make a great difference in my life. I recommend this book to every woman single or married that is educated, has a good salary, and still ends up at the mall spending most of it on dumb things that are not worth anything and do not build on your future.
