Great Series!

I remeber watching this on tv. I was pretty young but it was entertaining. I recently rented them all and watched them again. It still entertained me. Thought the animation is a little dated, the series still is awesome. It was basically the truly first of its kind for tv. It also takes from the book, unlike the movie. Though there are still some things not correct (like dizz being a girl), it nails the book and fills in for you. I recomend that you read the book as well as watch this!

Just good fun. Buy it.

The constant one-liners are a lot like an action hero comic book, but don't hold that against this box set. The animation is solid, the bad guys are the stuff of nightmares, and even in the future, "military intelligence" remains an oxymoron. Add a little pleasantly unexpected philosophy, and you have one of the most under rated TV series I have ever liked enough to watch in 3 consecutive days.

Better then the Theater Movie by Far!!

Out of all the anime, cartoons, cgi, movies, and what have you this is the best series I have ever watched. Whom ever is the military advisor on these chronicles deserves a Bravo Zulo!

Even "Starship Troopers" falls short to these chronicles. The series characters remind me of those I served with. They are so human its scary! "Aliens" was a great movie that showed a future Marines but "Roughnecks" has it beat.

I love the fact that strict disapline is still part of the Corps in these series. If you are a Marine or served your country you will enjoy the "Roughnecks".

It's just too bad that they stopped making these series. They should make a video game of the Chronicles!

One of the best animated series to come

I liked the first movie...not loved just liked (I wont mention the second one) but then I remember seeing the Roughnecks for the first time and loved it, it was so much better than the movie. The plot was deep and the action was good and also the animation, what I would really love is a game based off the Roughnecks series.
