Weight Falls Off-Great for post baby weight loss, even when breastfeeding

This diet is one of the easiest diets I have ever done. It's healthy and basically high protein, lots of veggies and a few treats along the way. I don't use any kind of fake fats nor fake sugar because of the danger of using these products, so I basically either skipped these suggestions during the two week initial diet program and afterwards made baked organic apples with plain no sugar homemade whip creame or raw organic apple or some other kind of OG fruit that was high in fiber such as dates which are also sweet and take the sweet tooth edge off. I didn't gain a ton of weight during my pregnancy. However the last 10 lbs have just been sticking around. I am also breastfeed and with the elimination of all whites, white sugar, white flour, white rice the weight is just falling off. And it hasn't caused any problems in my 7 month old exclusively nursing daughter. This is a totally "doable" diet.

This Diet Works!

What separates this diet book from others is that it works. The South Beach Diet is a low carb diet, but it is designed to be easily integrated into your normal eating. The recipes are delicious, there are simple substitutes and you don't end up with cravings that cause you to go off the diet. My mother has tried many, many diets over the years. I gave her a copy of the book, fixed a few meals for her to show how easy they could be adapted to her eating habits and she lost 20 pounds. She particularly likes the recotta cheese with Splenda and a touch of vanilla as a desert. There is a new diet book out every week, but if you want a diet that really works then choose this one!

More than a diet - a new way to look at food for life

This book and the three supplements make this diet an adventure into finding new foods and new recipes for the foods we all love while we lose weight at a wonderful rate. After four weeks, I had lost 16 pounds and my wife lost 10 pounds, and we are continuing to lose. She and I are thoroughly enjoying reading the recipes, preparing them and tweaking them to more closely fit our taste for the next time we prepare the dish.

The first book, the one that introduces the concept, has 107 pages that set your mind for the ease with which one can actually lose weight and keep it off. The next 187 pages are crammed with recipes, some created by noted chefs. The other books are supplementary and add variety to the meals and dishes.

It is marvelous to follow a diet that does not require keeping track of calories and fat, sugar and carb grams. Just prepare the suggested meals and watch the waist shrink.

Skeptic no more

Count me as one who doubted the South Beach approach. But...I'm in week three, have lost twenty pounds so far, and have enjoyed the variety of "diet" meal recipes Dr. Agatston provides. I highly recommend this.
