Emotionally clarifying book!

I stumbled across this book while browsing new releases at a local book shop just 2 weeks after my mother passed away. I laughed til I cried, cried until I was drained, and feel as though I am intimate friends with each of the characters in this book! An absolutely fabulous story about our "best friends" at different stages and times of our lives. All so completely different with seemingly nothing in common and yet everything in common. I could relate to each and every character of the story either because we are alike or because I have a friend like them. It put me very much in touch with my own life and feelings towards friendship, mothers, love and loss. And what a great concept to bring people together through a common bond....a traveling funeral.

A journey too good to be true

Our book club selected this to be discussed recently. We agreed that several of the "stories" were a hoot - especially the one about the bra.
We also used this as a discussion motivator on funerals and cremation. We felt the journey was very contrived, but did enjoy the various situations - and found them quite fun to talk about.
