Great Resource

Although I have not been able to read through the whole book yet I am glad to have this book as a resource for my girls. They are young yet (5 & 7) but I will be happy that I will have answers for their questions!

(_E=mc2_) A Must Read!

Excellent survey of the female body and the issues we deal with as girls and women. This is a must read for women everywhere, teenage girls, mothers (and fathers!) of girls, and every male that has any kind of communication with females! Please, please, please put together a Body Drama book about real guys. That would just be so helpful in understanding and dealing with communication and relationships.

Finally, a book about women's bodies that covers everything!

Nancy Amanda Redd was a beauty queen who won the swimsuit competition in the Miss America contest. She knew this wasn't her real self, and was encouraged by those who knew her to explore all the issues women, and particularly young women, face with their bodies. This book is thorough and careful, with clear, straight-forward information on absolutely everything a woman has thought about her body: "shape, skin, down there, boobs, hair & nails," as it says on the cover. It is chock-full of photographs of real, individual women and all their body parts. It shows how a bit of Photoshop can radically change reality. Redd talks frankly about sex, shape, body function and elmination, anorexia, plastic surgery -- everything women have thought about or done to their bodies. I especially loved how she realized she wasn't that person in the swimsuit -- that there is more to her than that, and how writing this book helped her to own it. I know other women will have the same experience when they read it.

An amazing book...not just for teenage girls!

This is a great book. Perfect for any woman that wants to learn more about their body not just teenage girls.
This book although graphic, is not overally technical. It helped me become more comfortable with my own body, as well as helped me understand it better.
In today's society the media creates an almost unattainable image for you women.(The book reviews air-brushing)This book will help you to realize that you are beautiful just as you are, I did!
Get it for yourself, a friend, a daughter, a niece...anybody! IT WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE; I plan on keeping it to share with my daughters some day.

Like "Sex Ed." for teenagers

A good book for teenage girls wanting to know their bodies better. I thought it was about body image, which it is not.
