Devotional Classics

I had read this particular book at another house and was so enthralled with it that I wanted one for my Library and I am giving one for a birthday
present.I probably would not have bought it had I not seen it first.

Great intro to spiritual growth

Due to the fact that I was in an abusive church, I tended to distrust anything that smacked of mysticism or spirituality that bypassed the brain. Nevertheless, I have been more open of late to works that attempt to speak more to the heart and not just the head - to the whole person, if you will. This is a great intro to this end giving good pieces that are worth meditating on.

For me, I ignore the questions. I don't need more "do the following steps to be spiritual". I find just reading each piece slowly over and over for a week or so allows me to move the truths from just an intellectual understanding to change in the heart and will.

Indepth discipleship

This is a wonderful, thought provoking, action evoking devotional. Because of its indepth nature, I use it as a weekly devotional, reading and rereading the selection throughout the week and working on one of the action items. Devotional Classics is an excellent choice for intentional discipleship.

Great Book

This is a great book. The various authors have great insight on the subjects covered. Each reading will broaden one's perspective on living the Christian life.
