Healthy living from the inside out

Mariel Hemingway gives very sound advice in the areas of food, exercise, silence and home in a clear, concise and inspiring manner. I have tried most of the recipes in this book and have found some true favorites- especially the breakfast shake and the purple puree! My favorite aspect of the book are the quick fixes and tips she has scattered throughout that offer breathing, meditation and stress relief exercises. Excellent book.


Finding beauty inside and out

I spotted this book in the bookstore and spent 30 minutes browsing the pages before I bought it. I have always wanted to try Yoga and was drawn to this easy to follow manual, complete with beautiful pictures that demonstrate the correct poses. As a woman raising three little girls I am drawn to books that make it simple to achieve balance. Mariel Hemingway's book is well laid out, easy to follow and a wonderful way to connect with the "real" beauty we all have - both inside and out. Every time I pick it up, I feel a sense of peace.

Overall sound health advice...

I purchased this book and read 3/4 of it. I got bored towards the end, which starts to talk about how to decorate your home feng-shui style and the art of breathing and yoga poses, etc. But that is my personality. I think the book was really insightful and good to read. The organization could have been much tighter and sometimes there would be a chapter with a lot of anecdotal information from her experiences and then the next would barely mention her past. So I was confused as to where the book was going or what it's intentions were. But it was really wonderful to read. I recommend the purchase. She has really great advice in there. She mentions some products that I have also found to be excellent. And she's grain-free! This book reminded me a lot of Joshua Rosenthal's Integrative Nutrition book. Here is the link to that book. Useful Guide to Healthy Living

I enjoyed this book so much, I bought it for my friends as gifts and they've all really loved it. Being in my early forties with children, it is nice to have a book that helps you slow down and live a more peaceful and healthy lifestyle.


Great Book

This book is a wonderful book to read, talks about the women body and living healthy. I own RC Duct Cleaning an Air Duct Cleaning Company and I am always concerned with my health as well as that of people around me so I would definately recommend this book.
