Must Read

This is an excellent book! Much enjoyable and emotional too. One will get totally immersed and that is a pleasure read. Thanks B.

This was my first, but not my last Beverly Jenkins!

This was a great book! The characters were well drawn and it made me want to go out and purchase all of her books - which I now have! The historicals are great and the contemporary books make you wish we had more people like that in Detroit and in my own home town of Oakland.

Vivid characters!

I really enjoyed the characters! They were so believable. Their language was hip without being forced; their situations and reactions felt legitimate. It was well done. One reviewer mentioned there was too much sex. I'm on the fence with that one. On one hand I enjoy erotic romances and steamy, explicit sex scenes can be fun. On the other hand, this was not an erotic romance and all the "turgid peaks" and "rigid manhoods" got a little tiresome. Still this book is highly recommended for its great characters and interesting plot.

My New Favorite Author.

I truly enjoyed this book. It had great character development and a strong plot. JT was not the typical female character from a romance novel. She was strong, independent and was not easily swooned. She was not some innocent, virginal, doe -eyed woman. Reese was confident without being a male chauvinist pig like many male characters. In addition to the love story there was a couple of great subplots. If you are looking for something a little deeper than the usual romance book, READ THIS.

Deadly, sexy, brilliant!

Ms Jenkins once again writes a brilliant romantic suspense book. Its good to read a book where the dialogue is realistic, and the love scenes tho not very descriptive are erotic and hot! Love the fact there was no silly denial of the attraction from either side. I hate when both partes deny thieir feelings and play games and in this book that silly plot devise does not exist thankfully! So for all you first timers to Ms Jenkins work rush out now and buy all her historical books and modern romantic suspense books starting with Night Song you won't be disappointed.

Though her Lexus may be broken down on the California freeway, Jessi Teresa Blake is no damsel in distress. Rich, smart, and beautiful, JT, or "Lady Blake," as she is called, is one of the toughest sports agents around. She's negotiated megabucks contracts for every superstar in the business, and only the most confident of men can match wits with her. Men like Reese Anthony, the impossibly sexy trucker who gives her a lift back to Oakland.
