Must reading for ecologists and those who are not

Simply, one of the best, most concise books I've read on evolutionary biology and ecology. Cogent arguments, well-thought out, clearly stated. A book that all young people should be required to read in order to understand the world they will be inheriting. Thought provoking, and also alarming in its methodical presentation of a dark future. As one who has a degree in ecology, I wish I had found this book when it was first published as it has provided me insights to the work I did 10 years ago as a graduate student.

A Brilliant explanation and celabration of "biodiversity",informed by the personal and first-hand experience of the world-famous scientist.
