Inspiring Memoir

This book is more 3 1/2 stars. I liked it but it got repetitive the last third. Overall, I found it inspiring. Kate has amazing strength and wisdom and I enjoyed learning about the benefits a chaplain can bring to game wardens and the people they serve. Kate is a Unitarian Universalist (and so am I) and I appreciated the way the she was respectful of and able to authentically serve people of all faiths.

Just read it

Sometimes a good book is not just about the story, but about the writing. That alone is reason enough to sit down with this book. Intimate, thoughtful, heartwarming and gently crafted, Kate weaves her story in ways that will make you laugh, cry and offer thanks that there are people in the world like her.

Here if You Need Me

I enjoyed this heartbreaking, healing and moving book so much that I bought copies of it for everyone for Christmas. I gave most people printed copies but I personally loved listening to it on CD so I could hear Kate's comforting words and prayers. I will always keep it.

Extraordinary

A profoundly moving book...I couldn't put it down. Kate Braestrup gets to the heart of life and death and life's deepest mystery. Well written in straightforward and honest terms. Also, an interesting look at the world of a Maine Game Warden.

Inspiring Life after Grief

This book is powerful from the lives she encounters to her own resurrection from being widowed.
