Angry housewives eating bon bons

Absolutely enjoyed reading this book about sisterhood in the neighborhood, women supporting each other no matter what fate throws at them. It takes a while to get to know all the characters and at times is written too lengthy but overall I highly recommend it to women of all ages.

I read through some of the other reviews of this book--interesting, 130 + and only 46 -.

My husband and I both read lots of serious non-fiction books--we both (yes, even the man!) found this fun to read--and contrary to others, felt her characters were pretty well drawn out. I could "see" the book, like a movie in my head, and "knew" the characters.

We are also on the other end of the political spectrum--but both of us like to read all kinds of books, and find that we do learn from books that present other viewpoints. Try very hard to keep an open mind, and find that about some things, we have actually changed our thinking after reading an opposing view.

Our book group of 15 women, and 1 man are discussing the book tomorrow--and so far, pre-group--all the reports I have heard have been +. Looking forward to the discussion! And again, always the contrarians--our group is mixed--folks on the far right of the political spectrum, people in the middle, and some who lean leftward. Makes for pretty interesting discussions--but like the Angry Housewives--all views are welcome and respected, if not in agreement.
