Characters with Heart

My aunt gave me this book when it was delivered with her local Sunday newspaper. I had not read Harlequin since high school, and was greatly surprised by how much I enjoyed it.

The main female lead of the story, Katie, finds herself alone and pregnant, returning to her hometown of Dundee, Idaho.
This is a small town where everyone knows your name, past mistakes, present problems and judgment is served up daily.

Complicating her return is Booker, the town bad-boy and Katie's former boyfriend. The last person she would expect to find support from, when she is shunned by her parents.

The characters, main and secondary, are well-developed in this novel. You will find yourself cheering them on as they triumph over adversity and show more heart, compassion and loyalty than those who are judging them.

Loved this Book!

I also am a Mrs. K in Ohio that received this book free with our Sunday newspaper. I started reading it Sunday afternoon and finished it up Monday morning. No sense to go into the storyline since most people have but wanted to say I fell in love with the characters and wanted to tell Katies parents off myself. When a book pulls you in that far it is a GREAT book. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did. I will be sure to look for more titles from Brenda Novak. Also thank you Harlequin for sending out the free book!

Exciting in Dundee...

After leaving Booker behind 2 years earlier...Katie comes home unmarried and pregnant. Even with their history he helps her out, over and over...A Heartwarming story..
Having the stories continue for the other Dundee, Idaho characters...an extra plus + +

Intense!

A very intense read. I love that some of her books characters are intertwined. Brenda Novak is a wonderful author!

A Family of Her Own

I really love this book. I thought that the charaters were very realistic. You know how you read a book and think "Yeah right that could never happen" I never did that through out the story. I thought that the heroine was strong and believable. I even at times thought the next line before I read it but the story line didn't get predictable. Brenda Novack is a excellent writer and I looking forward to enjoying more of her books!

Pregnant . . .and alone?

When Katie Rogers returns to Dundee, Idaho, it's not because she wants to. It's because she's disillusioned, broke -- and pregnant. She was going to make something of her life in the big city. Instead, she's paying a high price for trusting the wrong man.

Booker Robinson is the man she didn't trust, the man she'd left behind in Dundee . . .and the first person she sees when she comes back. But despite Booker's notorious past, he now has a successful business and a home of his own.

He's also spent two years getting over Katie. She's the last person he wants to see. But when her parents refuse to take her in, she doesn't have anywhere else to go, and Booker soon finds himself with a roommate -- one who needs a father for her baby . . .

Katie's vowed she'll never trust the wrong man again. But sometimes a man isn't everything he seems. And sometimes he's more . . .
