This Room Service definitely delivers!
When TV producer Emmaline "Em" Harris is sent to the exclusively seductive Hush Hotel in Manhattan to recruit their famously successful chef, Jacob Hill, to host a new cooking show, it is her last chance to salvage the disaster that her career had turned into. Em and Jacob embark on a red-hot affair, with Jacob showing Em NYC spots that the average sightseer would never even realize exist in the city. Each is entranced by the other and they are combustible when together. Secondary characters are crucial to the story and their stories, while not given the same amount of attention as Em and Jacob, of course, are a very pleasing bonus. When Jacob refuses to do Em's show and her time at Hush comes to an end, she reluctantly returns to L.A., putting thousands of miles between them and their broken hearts.
Jill Shalvis never fails to deliver exceptionally well-written characters and settings, clever, witty dialogue and rich emotion.

passionate contemporary romance
Though three strikes normally means you're out, TV producer Emma Harris is given one last chance to prove that high stands of quality in shows can be a success. She chooses to put on the air a cooking show and knows who she wants as the host chef, dynamic sexy Jacob Hill who runs the Hush Hotel's highly regarded Amuse Bouche.
However, Jacob wants nothing to do with TV cooking as he believes the hosts are entertainers not chefs. However, he finds saying no to the pretty Emma an impossible task as he is attracted to her from the start. He believes she reciprocates, at least that seems to be the vibes emitting from her to him. Thus, Jacob agrees to do her show, but plans to have her for dessert.
ROOM
SERVICE
is a passionate contemporary romance starring two protagonists who believes the other one is a personalized banquet made exclusively for them. Emma and Jacob are nice hard working individuals who the audience will like. While the support cast adds spicy dessert, the lead couple's romance over TV cooking (and a few hotter locales) makes for a fun repast that the audience will enjoy.

A hot, satisfying read
Em Harris has one mission, to hire chef Jacob Hill to front her new television show or get fired. Except Jacob doesn't want a job in television. He's quite happy where he is right now, as the head chef at Amuse Bouche for the sex-themed hotel Hush. But Em's got a bigger problem. Jacob tastes as delicious as he looks, and he's just as addicting.
Jill Shalvis brings realistic, modern characters to life in this novel. Em comes to us with ambition and a belief in herself, as well as morals she won't compromise. This makes her a loveable character, and one with very real vulnerabilities. Jacob has brought himself to the status of the best chef in New York from very humble beginnings. He knows what it's like to perform like a circus act, and he sees television work as going back to those painful times. He refuses. Em brings with her friends who are just as mixed up about love as she is, and Jacob also has those in which he confides who also find their own happiness. Together, this makes for an enjoyable read.
However, I've noticed a trend in
Blaze novels
where secondary characters also have to get their own happily ever afters, and in this novel, no less than three couples find true love. This leaves the reader feeling as if the two secondary couples were jilted for time, as I would have loved to have watched their stories play out just as vibrantly as Em's and Jacob's story did.
There are a few questions with this book, such as why did Jacob fly all the way to Los Angeles in the end, and why it took them so long to find Jacob's replacement on the show, but frankly, when I finished reading this book it was with a smile on my face and a feeling that the author delivered the hot, emotional love story I expected. The questions didn't come until afterwards. So to me, this makes
Room

an excellent read and a great addition to the already wonderful "Do Not Disturb" series featuring the Hush hotel.

The heat in kitchen reaches boiling temperatures. Jacob and Em never cool off. Throw some water on their fires.
Emmaline Harris is a TV producer from Hollywood sent on a mission. She was on her last leg but her boss, Nathan, decided he would give her another chance. They wanted to do a cooking show. Em was to hire a crew, fly to New York, and contact the chef from Amuse Bouche, Jacob Hill. She had one month to accomplish the assignment.
As Em looked around at her surroundings, the colors, patterns, and artwork, she was amazed at the beauty of the Hush Hotel. She was hoping to convince the chef to leave Hush and host his own cooking show back in Hollywood. She got on the elevator punched the button to go to her

, the elevator made a stop on the second floor where a gorgeous man got on. He walked towards Em, took her in his arms, and deeply kissed her. Two women behind him gasped. Em could only think how his lips felt against hers. Delicious, soft, and his tongue was thoroughly inspecting her mouth. His hand held her head in place. The kiss left her weak in the knees. The man thanked her and departed the elevator. Em needed to get a grip on her thoughts, but she just realized the women had called him chef.

has all the ingredients of a good recipe: spicy flirting, delicious touching, and heavy on the aroma of sex. Jill Shalvis is an author who always produces the right amount of spark into the relationships of her characters, and even the secondary ones. This is an author and book to watch out for! I highly recommend ROOM SERVICE to all romance readers.

Room
Service
by Jill Shalvis is a delightful sexy, spicy read.
Emmaline "Em" Harris's TV producing career is hanging by its last thread. She is giving one more chance to get a hit show on her hands. Em sets her sites on hot chef Jacob Hill. She has heard nothing but rave things about his ability in the kitchen. But Em wasn't prepared for Jacob's ability to heat things up outside of his work place. Furthermore Jacob's restaurant is located in the sex themed hotel Hush, no wonder she can't keep her mind on her mission to nab Jacob for her show.
Jacob Hill has risen from his humble beginnings to become a world-class chef. He wants no part of a reality TV cooking show. His first meeting with Em is highly charged. They stumble into a sex filled relationship. But they connect on a deeper level that has both of them running for the hills.
Room Service is a treat. Its characters are likeable and well written. You find yourself falling in love right along with them. Jill Shalvis can really pen the hot and sassy story.
