Addie and the King of Hearts by Gail Rock is one in the series of books (I think there are four in all) about Addie Mills, a young girl coming of age in . This book is about her discovering the true meaning of love as the school dance is approaching and she tries to be sophisticated to impress her teacher (7th grade I think). It is a very real and honest and touching book and I highly recommend it.
