Very fun read!!!!

My kids loved this book. It was up beat and very different from any children's book we have read. My kids giggled through the whole thing. Great book and fun pictures.

A New Favorite

My boys, ages 8, 5 and 1.5 all loved this fun, jazzy book. The words are fun to read out loud and the pictures are great. It's our new favorite bedtime read.

Wow! Terrific book. My son and I couldn't stop talking in "scat" to each other after we finished reading this. Lively rhythmic text (very fun to read aloud) and fabulous jazzy illustrations. This book is wonderful on so many levels--as a celebration of jazz music, an affectionate tribute to New York City, a charming tale of daddy worship . . .

Every night, Cool Daddy Rat takes his bass case, and goes out to play and scat around the city. But one night he hears something strange: Peeky squeaky who dat? It?s his son, Ace, hiding in the bass case! After a reassuring call to Mama, the pair go all over the city together, filling the streets with his sweet beat. And when Ace can?t contain himself any longer, Cool Daddy Rat finds out he?s not the only fantastic scatter in the family.
