Mick Winslow and Grayson Montgomery share in common Alex and police work although the former is retired and the latter is on sick leave. Mick was his father while Gray was his partner on the Dallas PD. Both grieve his death and want his killer caught, but the department has failed as they hold the late Alex culpable for "blatant disregard of duty". The older man provides Gray with a name, Eric Samuels. Gray takes six months leave and travels to Houston where Faith Malone is the only lead to Eric as her mother vanished with the cop killer just after he squeezed the trigger.

Faith dreams of her sexual fantasies being fulfilled by a loving dominant hunk. When she meets Gray she thinks he might be perfect for her SWEET SURRENDER. As they fall in love, she knows he is hiding something from her; Gray has not lost sight of his quest to catch his partner's killer.

This heated investigative romantic suspense is a terrific tale because of the Dallas cop who knows he is in love when he realizes his submissive SWEET SURRENDER is in peril. Faith and Gray are a wonderful pairing with some light bondage in the boudoir and plenty of love outside of it. Fans will feel Mick's tormented frustration that enhances an intense transfixing thriller.

Very Sweet Indeed!!!

I loved this book!!! The journey that Faith goes on to find out what she needs and how Gray is there to help her figure it out. Throw in a little crime and lovin'. It's enuff to keep you warm for quite awhile. The secondary characters are amazing as well. I hope their stories will be told at later dates. Ms. Banks is indeed on my list of must haves.

The crime story aspect of this book was not well developed, and really, all we're interested in is the sex and the relationship between the two protagonists, but I guess the author needed something to hang the story of the relationship on. Fortunately, it reads quickly. I thought the developing relationship was pretty well done, although not filled out for Gray, the "hero," and the writing wasn't as bad as some I've read. So yeah, I'd recommend it. Strong man, woman wanting to be with someone who will take charge and also take care of her.

Sweet Surrender

Gray Montgomery is working on the biggest case of his life. His best friend and partner Alex was murdered, and he cannot rest until the perpetrator is brought to justice. The Dallas police department has been working on it without any forward progress, and Gray decides to follow the lead Alex's father uncovered. He takes a leave of absence from the police department, and goes undercover in Houston to find out what Faith Malone knows because their suspect was last seen in the company of her mother.

After just spending a few moments with Faith, Gray instinctively knows that she had nothing to do with the hit on Alex, but stays in hopes of finding a lead on her mother. Gray finds himself incredibly attracted to Faith, but fights his feelings because of her involvement in his investigation, and he is afraid she couldn't handle his darker sexual tastes. Little does Gray know that Faith craves a strong dominant man. She finds herself thinking about him constantly hoping he is the man she has been looking for. When Gray and Faith finally give into their desires, and it is explosive.

Maya Banks became a must buy for me after Colters' Woman, and her subsequent books never fail to hit the mark. I am always excited to see what she has coming out next. This book was sexy, erotic, and thrilling. I am hoping to maybe see this developed into a series. It sure was set up to. Superb read!

This book brings out everything, tension, suspense, desire, and restrained but uncontrollable passion. It will grip you from begining to end. The chemistry between Faith and Gray is electrifying, the pace of the story is such that it is crying out to be made into a movie. Great writing. The author of For Her Pleasure makes readers surrender to erotic romantic suspense. It doesn't get much hotter. Dallas cop Gray Montgomery is on a mission to find the guy who killed his partner. So far, he's found a link between the killer and Faith, a beautiful stranger-and if Gray has to get close to her to catch the killer, so be it. And closer still when the killer makes his own moves on the vulnerable young woman.
