A true nail-biter!

Die For Me has received almost unanimous 5 star reviews from everyone whose read it that I know personally. I'm gonna have to add mine to it. Well written, extremely well plotted without sacrificing one ounce of character development- Ms. Rose is an author to watch!

She must be, considering the fact I'm almost fed up with the serial killer/stalker plot. In fact, I almost put DFM down soon after I started it because of this, but the intriguing characters and my curiosity about them kept me going.

Sophie is an archaeologist called into to assist the police in a homicide investigation when a body is found on a deserted piece of property. She's tall, prone to hippy clothing, bold and blond- and just as vulnerable as you and I. Vito is a detective with soft heart. He's seen the worst- including an event that killed the woman he loved, but he hasn't given up on humanity. When they meet, there is an instant attraction and, despite all that's going on around them, and their respective baggage, they fall for each other in a big way.

The killer in this story is unconscionable, heartless, and not as intelligent as he thinks! Too late, he finds himself up against a formidable investigative team- a team who cracks the shell of his evil deeds putting themselves one step ahead of unknowing him through most of the book. (Which is something that I LOVED about DFM. These cops were no dummies!)

This book is a nail-biter and the inevitable climax and resolution is satisfying enough to suit even lil ol' jaded me! (Sophie ain't no wilting flower waiting patiently for her knight in shining armor- although Vito is indeed that!)

Great read

This is my second book by Karen Rose and I have to say its a drastic improvement from the first one I read, DONT TELL. Her plot with its brilliant twists kept me entertained the whole time, despite how long the book was, unlike the last time when I felt it was difficult to even finish the book. The two main characters were great, really likeable and they had good chemistry. I didnt give it 5 stars only bc I would have liked to have seen more emphasis on the two main characters and more interaction time between the two.

I just reread this book in preparation for her newest, Scream For Me. She is an amazing author - I cannot put her books down once I start them. Scream For Me promises to be another unforgettable read. I wish Karen Rose could write faster!

this book caused me to miss a day of work because I stayed up all night to finish it this is the second book by ms rose that I have read and she will be a favorite author of mine this book was GREAT, the suspense was a nail bitter

First in the series

This is the first novel in Karen Rose's series. I think the author got the two titles mixed up though because This book should have been titled "Scream for me" and her second novel should have been "Die for me", but they are the opposite.

Die for Me is a romantic thriller with plenty of twists to the plot and character development. For myself, it was easy to figure out who the killer was, but then I read one to two books a day. I just don't always get the chance to write reviews for all of them. Not that this book wasn't good, but I almost never give out 5 stars unless the author stumps me on the reveal or keeps twisting and turning the plot so much that I find it more than just suspenseful.

I'm going to omit the synopsis on this one because so many other reviewers have written excellent ones. The only thing I will say is that "Die for Me" is written more like a thriller with graphic death scenes than the second book "Scream for Me." If you as the reader find this one hard to stomach, than the next book will be far more tame. If you enjoy more of the details in the killings than the next book might not appease you as much. This is a thriller where the second in the series is a police procedural. Both have a romantic sub-plot but not heavy romance if you are into that.

I don't know if this review helped anyone or just confused them more. So, I will get to the point of all my reviews.

Is the book worth buying?
Yes, if you enjoy a suspenseful thriller about serial killers and light romance thrown in. Just note that this book is a little on the wordy side and some readers may feel the need to jump over much of the tedious descriptions and dialog that is not relevant to the story-line. This is the first of this authors books that I have found it to be that way. The second in the series is just the opposite. If the second book did not use one of the secondary characters in this book for the next, you would not even think they were written by the same author. Happy reading.
