THIS BOOK IS REALLY FOR OLDER GIRLS I THINK THAT WHEN YOU GO TO PURCHASE A BOOK LIKE THIS IT SHOULD SHOW AGE APPORIATE SO THAT YOU CAN TELL HOW BEST TO BUY THIS FOR THE RIGHT AGE.

The book was purchased for a 12 year old's birthday. The binding was amazing for this type of product: foil embossing, and counter-sunk as well. The tweener loved it and spent a lot of time with her mother going through it. I intend on looking into the rest of the series next year. Can you get much better than that?

Opening THE GIRLS' BOOK: HOW TO BE THE BEST AT EVERYTHING proved itself to be an adventure. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the book offered something for everyone, from the sensible to the outrageous. Have you ever wondered how to be a math magician? How about how to survive in a horror film? This book offers many fun activities for children of all ages- such as how to write a haiku, make a kite, grow a crystal, execute a high dive, play sudoku, or strum a guitar. Unexpected in this book however are the sensible realistic issues that everyday children face.
Tucked away in the nooks and crannies of the book, though they are few, are the serious issues this book approaches. Issues such as how to deal with a bully and how to study for exams are things that might not be expected in this type of a book but they manage to fit seamlessly. The issues are approached with a sense of humor making the reader laugh and offering realistic advice to those who may be scared to ask. The book was wonderfully funny and entertaining as well as educational, I learned how to finally do a sudoku puzzle. The nature of the book does not lend itself to a continuous read but is better handled when broken up into small bits offering the reader a chance to experiment with many of the instructions in the book.
