HE ALWAYS HURTS THE ONES YOU LOVE...
When FBI agent and profiler Pierce Quincy 's troubled daughter, Mandy, dies in what is labeled as a DWI
accident
, Quincy is not buying it. He engages the services Rainie Conner, an ex-cop who is now in business as a private investigator. Pierce and Rainie are not strangers to each other, as they have been involved both professionally and personally before.
When Rainie begins her investigation, she doesn't hold out much hope that Mandy's death was anything other than what it was classified. As her investigations develops, however, it seems that Mandy's death may not have been as it was made to appear. Moreover, Quincy has started getting a series of disturbing telephone calls and has become convinced that what is happening in his present has its roots in his past. As the body count mounts, suspicion falls on Pierce, who is locked in a battle of wits with a clever and cunning psychopath hell-bent on destroying Pierce's entire family, one by one.
This is a clever and ingenious plot-driven thriller that will keep the reader turning its pages. There are numerous twists and turns in what is essentially a cat and mouse game between Quincy and his nemesis. The only problem with the book is the ending, as it is just a little too far fetched and seems to be a race to the finish. Still, the pleasure is in the journey that the book takes you. I am looking forward to reading some of the author's other books.

Predictable, but Entertaining
Even though I didn't like Rainie from the last novel, I thought this one would be better because it deals with Quincy. I liked this book much better than the previous one in the series, but I thought that some things should've been presented in a different order. I thought it didn't make sense that Quincy didn't think that his daughter's drunk driving
accident
was an accident. The daughter on life support was a sub plot in the previous novel because she had driven drunk. I think that the accident should've been questioned after the events began to unfold througout the novel. Also, just because the passenger's seat belt is warped and stretched, doesn't mean that someone was sitting in the car with Mandy, the drunk driver, and set up the accident . It just means that at sometime in the vehicle's life, the driver hit the brakes to avoid hitting someone or hit something and the seat belt held the passenger in place. And then, once again, the motives for revenge were a let down. The book was pretty predictable, and this wasn't the best book, but it was entertaining.

You ever wonder where your next accident will happen
I Like all Lisas' books, and this one did not disappoint.
Another Hit
I have read every book she has written but two. None have been a let down so far. I have a hard time putting her books down. This keeps you guessing to the end. I had a hard time trying to see how this one would end up. And it does has a great ending. If you are into Lisa Gardner's books this one won't let you down.
Page turner is an understatement!!!
I loved this book. From the very first page this is a gripping thriller!! Ms. Gardner's characters are so real and very interesting! I have read 2 of her books now and I highly recommend them!! Even my husband likes them!!
