GLOBAL WARMING STOPPED IN 1998

Singer and Avery provide an excellent review of the science of climate change. It is essential reading! As a result of the computer-generated and UN-promoted junk science, governments and companies are now planning to squander billions on CO2 sequestration.

Nature stopped global warming in 1998 in spite of increasing emissions of anthropogenic CO2. After reading this book, it will become blindingly obvious that this trace gas does not provide us with a climate thermostat. More important, we should not forget that CO2 is essential for life and that we are now living in a CO2-impoverished atmosphere.

A real eye opener

This book reveals that the global warming hysteria is an attempt at a massive power grab by the UN. He documents extensively the evidence that global warming is driven by the sun, and that the Earth has been warming - and cooling - on about a 1,500 year cycle going back at least a million years. The polar ice is melting and the polar bears will go extinct? But wait, polar bears have been surviving these cycles for eons! Melting ice will raise sea levels by 40 feet? Yes, if you wait about 8,600 years! Warmer temperatures will cause huge outbreaks of malaria? Malaria was more widespread in Siberia in the 1920's when it was colder there! Point by point the author deconstructs the hype and reveals the alarmists' real agenda: The UN and Al Gore controlling your energy allotment and how you are permitted to use it. Read this book, raise your voice and call the eco-communists out for the liars they really are. The widespread deception on this issue, and the dire economic harm it will cause, are too important to remain unchallenged.

Closely argued confirmation

Global warming and cooling are part of the life of our planet. What drives the cycles is still in part a mystery, certainly we humans have very little to do with them. Polar bears have lived through hotter and colder times.

This book provides evidence of what has been happening and the consequences over the millennia. Well worth the price and the time to read.

Unstoppable Global Warming: Every 1500 Years, Updated and Expanded Addition

Dr. Fred Singer has written a very clear readable rebuttal to the hypothesis of man-made global warming. He has three main points, each one well made. The first point is a scientific claim that the earth has warmed and cooled in 1500 year cycles between the universally agreed upon major ice ages. His second point is also scientific; that the rise in CO2 over the last 150 years very poorly correlates to the rise in temperatures therefore undermining global warming models that claim that the warming we experience is man-made. His third point is economic. That to the extent that for whatever reason the earth warms or cools both man and goverments need to consider the cost/benefit ratio in whatever we do. His conclusion is that we should take modest palliative measures (i.e building dikes or barriers to deal with high sea surges) to deal with any adverse effects. And even more important, that humankind mostly benefits from a warming climate (though not all areas share in that benefit -- and some areas experience a net negative effect).

Dr. Singer does a terrific job of marshalling and annotating his position, remaining calm as others scream to be believed and firmly planting is flag next to careful deliberation. His book deserves much more careful and calm attention, especially the general press. If "Sixty Minutes" ever wants to present both sides of the global warming debate (don't hold your breath on that one) it couldn't do better than allowing Dr. Singer to present his case. Scott Pelley eat your heart out!
