where is gaia????

after sam's warning, gaia has gone to ground to keep the evil loki from finding her. little does she know that sam has been
murdered. with her father and her uncle both trying to use clever
plans to find her, she comes up with the simplest plan with the
help of unexpected friends. this book is simply great and pascal
manages to keep us on the edge of our seats once again just waiting to read number 19. i guess that is how she keeps rich by
keeping us in suspense. (you really rock pascal).

Gaia's taking a stand

Gaia finds herself with no where left to turn and wants to leave New York, to fill out her dream of becoming a waitress somewhere where no one knows her past or cares. But she soon realizes that she can't leave with out saying goodbye to her best friend and the only person in the world she can trust, Ed Fargo. Loyal Ed though won't let Gaia leave with out a plan and puts his life in danger, giving her a place to stay and warm clothes. Soon Gaia realises that they, whoever they happen to be, know where she is and she isn't safe no matter what wonderful illusion Ed offers her. She still needs to find out what happened with Sam and what is going on with these new feelings about Ed. So with some unlikely help and a change of plans Gaia sets out to play the hero and possible martyr.

You can't help but fall in 'Love' with this latest 'Fearless' installment!

Over the years, seventeen-year-old Gaia Moore has learned quite a few things about love. Namely, it usually goes hand-in-hand with betrayal. She loved her Uncle, and he, in turn, destroyed her family, and attempted to use her for his own financial gain. She loved her father, and he ended up abandoning her. She loved Sam, and he disappeared. Maybe the one thing Gaia needs to remember about love, is that it's useless. Which is why she's leaving.

She walks through Washington Square Park, and she's beating up dealers. She hops a subway, and she's being attacked by raunchy men looking to torment young girls. She goes for a walk in Manhattan, and she's being tailed. Gaia just can't take her life anymore. She wants to head to Anywhere, USA, where she can work as a waitress at a diner, and leave her sordid, muddled past behind. Which is why she's leaving New York City. It's time for a change of pace, where she can breathe fresh air, and be invisible for once. Unfortunately, she's without cash, and is incapable of leaving the city until she says goodbye to Ed. Ed has stood by her since the first day she appeared in his life, and she just knows that she can't simply leave without saying goodbye. Without letting him know that she's not abandoning him. The only problem is that saying goodbye to Ed proves harder than Gaia ever expected. For one, he's finally getting his life back on track, re-learning how to use his legs, and not having to be confined to a wheelchair since his experimental surgery. For two, there are unexplained feelings she has for Ed, that could be...love. Love that Ed returns wholeheartedly, but could get in the way of Gaia's plans. When she receives a cryptic message from Loki, however, depicting Sam in a very dangerous situation, Gaia realizes that she can't simply turn her back on the people she cares about most, and knows that it's up to her to save the people who are in danger because of her. Now, with assistance from a group of unlikely allies, Gaia must concoct a plan that will save her friends, and get her out of New York City in one piece, without arousing any suspicion. But some things are easier said than done.

It has been over a year since I have indulged in a FEARLESS novel; and now that I have completed LOVE, I am mentally kicking myself for having stayed away for so long. I have truly missed Gaia's over the top antics, and slightly narcissistic, down-trodden outlook on life. Her inability to trust people is not a surprise, given the hardships she has had to endure over the course of her lifetime; yet the fact that she is able to put certain things in the past indicate that she would love to be just...normal. Ed's role in LOVE is quite thrilling, especially for those who have followed the FEARLESS series from the beginning, as he finally musters up the courage to reveal a very important fact to Gaia that we've all been awaiting for quite some time. Yet the person who makes one of the biggest transformations within LOVE, is actually an individual who seemed the least likely, and that would be Heather Gannis. Heather has hidden behind a stone-faced facade for so long, but in LOVE, she has finally turned over a new leaf, and taken off the evil mask she has worn from her FEARLESS introduction. In fact, she actually comes off as being, dare I say it, nice. She is less self-absorbed, and more interested in helping others, which actually makes her more appealing as a character - for the first time. Francine Pascal has done a wonderful job of meshing these characters lives together, and adding an exciting dollop of action-packed fight scenes that will leave you on the edge of your seat. You can't help but fall in LOVE with this latest FEARLESS installment!

I thought I loved Sam.

He betrayed me. Now he's gone.

I thought I loved my uncle. He doesn't know what love is.

He only wants to use me.

Who's left?
