Amy is the main character in the story. Her family is moving way. She doesn't want to leave her house, her garden and he friends. She is sad when she first moves to her new home. Soon she starts to like to her new home. She meets new friends and she and her dad plan a new flower garden.

The book has characters that young children could relate to. If kids ever had to move they would be able to understand Amy's feelings.
I would recommend this to families who might be moving soon. They can read this book and discuss the way their child feels about the move.

We love all Heather Maisner books!

My 3 year old daughter loves all Heather Maisner books...I bought this one to help her learn about moving since we will be moving soon. The story and illustrations are cute - the author does a good job with putting topics (moving, doctor visit, etc.) on a child's level and the illustrator has colorful and fun illustrations.

This charming new picture book series of heartwarming stories and illustrations will help prepare young children for new situations. The First-Time Stories series stars six-year-old Amy and her little brother, Ben, who?like all preschool children?have mixed feelings about first-time experiences.
