Brothers????

Brandon Massey's novel "The Other Brother" was no let down. I picked up the book and read it in no time. It's a story of a lost brother looking for revenge. Brandon takes you inside of the minds of both Gabriel and Isaiah. You see how they grew up and how they ended up where they are now. This ia a great suspensful thriller that will keep you on your toes with every turn of the page.

Thanks Brandon!

I did love it. Nor did I hate it.

I think Brandon Massey has a lot of potential as a writer. I rate this book at 3.5 because, even though it is well written, I was not too moved by the story. There are a few spots that did not sit well with me. The paranorma experiences wasn't written where I was convinced it was real. I don't know. I can't put my finger on it.

It was okay and fast paced book. Like I said. I don't hate it, nor do I love it. I am relatively indifferent, which is not necessarily a bad thing.

Look No Further than the Other Brother!

Even though I've read Massey's anthologies before, I was still somewhat skeptical to purchase his books. The reason should be obvious. Good short story writing doesn't always translate well to longer narratives. Luckily for me, though, my skepticism was no match for my curiosity. I bought The Other Brother and it was the best purchase I made last year!

To say the Other Brother is just another story about an evil twin would be to do it a disservice! It is so much more than that! Its about family, vengeance, forgiveness and redemption. I know...I know...all evil twin stories are pretty much about the same thing. But what sets this one apart from the rest is the skill of the author! Brandon Massey effortlessly weaves an irresistible tale that satisfies on every level. Writing in the horror/suspense/thriller genre -- he is pretty much above reproach here! Small wonder he won an award for this book.

Some parts of the book are predictable. But it doesn't matter. The writing is so good -- you don't care! Massey certainly knows how to manipulate the imagination of the reader. I don't want to give anything away. But I will say this. Massey's power is in his subtlety! He doesn't beat you over the head with gore or anything. His work is more suggestive than explicit. But enough with this review, GO BUY THE BOOK ALREADY! Its fun, afforable and Amazon.com can have it at your home in no time. GET IT NOW! I can't imagine anyone not liking this book.

a writer to watch

I have read several of Brandon Massey's books and I am always pleased with how he puts a story together. He just keeps getting better.

His endings always have just enough of a twist to keep the story line plausible and not over the top.

A Mind Blower

"The Other Brother" is a good book for those who enjoy horror with a twist. Brandon Massey introduces to the reader excitement, intrigue, murder, the occult, mystery and sharper goose bumps. Often I thought I had the answer to the mystery and then realized that I didn't have the answer and had to slow my reading (and my heart) down a bit.

This is an excellent book to read during long distance traveling or just enjoying an evening at home.

"The Other Brother" is not the brother I would want in my family and neither would you. It is best that he stays in between the lines of your imagination.

I highly recommend this book.
