Fantastic

I bought this book for my little boy, and am very happy with it. Definitely recommend this one.

GREAT BOOK!

This book was PERFECT! It was very simple and left out all the messy details about divorce. It just focused on the positives and talked about the child having two homes, two doors, two coatracks, etc! I love it!

Children's 1st Choice at the Visitation Center

For several years our company sponsored a supervised visitation center. The shelves had an abundance of books to help children and their parents through this difficult time. Some families used the center for as many as three years. Two Homes, was the most popular book with the 3 to 10-year-olds. It seemed to give them a great deal of peace. It would make an outstanding gift for small children. I think it also demonstrates to the parents that there is a way to normalize the two home challenges. Excellent book for pre-schoolers going thru their parents divorce.

Got this book & 3 others for my 5 & 3 yr old boys who are going through a divorce with their mom & me. It is a pretty simple story - that really gets a lot of responses from my 3 yr. old (I have 2 beds, 2 toothbrushes) and reinforces that both parents love the child no matter what, where, or whenever they are. I also highly recommend "Was it the chocolate pudding?" Please at least make sure to breach these subjects with your kids no matter what - so they can get a better concept of what is going on in their lives!

Great Book for Toddler Boys

My three year old loves to read about Alex. He can identify well with him and he asks to read the book everynight. This is great book to help your toddler know that there are other kids that have two homes as well, and that they're not alone.

"Parents looking for a book about separation or divorce will find few offerings as positive, matter-of-fact, or child-centered as this one. . . . Simple, yet profoundly satisfying. - BOOKLIST (starred review)

At Mommy?s house, Alex has a soft chair. At Daddy?s house, Alex has a rocking chair. In each home, Alex also has a special bedroom and lots of friends to play with. But whether Alex is with Mommy or with Daddy, one thing always stays the same - Alex is loved. The gently reassuring text focuses on what is gained rather than what is lost when parents divorce, while the sensitive illustrations, depicting two unique homes in all their small details, firmly establish Alex?s place in both of them. TWO HOMES will help children - and parents - embrace even the most difficult of changes with an open and optimistic heart.
