It Wakes in Me
The book was an excellent suspense novel because it kept you wondering who was responsible for the cause of the strange goings on by an unknown person or persons. It was superb in leading you to one character and ultimately to another and another. Culminating in awe when you learn the reason for all the issues in the first place and who was actually responsile. For the peculiar occurrences that came to pass and the techniques used to resolve the mystery. Great couldn't put it down.
Unresolved
While this sequel carries the story along and spends much time exploring tribal political intrigue - it fails to resolve any of the main character's issues that had me interested in the series in the first place. I won't bother with the third book.

Im Awake!
Kathleen left many of us on the edge with her original story 'It Sleeps in Me'. She has not left us despairing as she further develops the characters and story in her 2nd book in this series. She also answers enough of our questions to keep us intrigued, exited and asking for more. I trully am amazed by the way in which Kathleen has added the facts into a fictional story. No better way to learn about the cultures of these Native Americans.
Excellent Read
I really enjoyed this sequel to 'It Sleeps in Me' and look forward to the next book in the series. The book is fast-paced and holds your interest to the very end; leaves you wanting more.

It
Wakes
In Me by Kathleen O'Neal Gear is the sequel to It Sleeps In Me. The first of the series began an intricate and erotic journey to the start of a scandal. Event after another create questions that seem to leave the reader even more puzzled. Theories are created only to find them incorrect and then reconsidered again. The end of the story drops off leaving you with so many unanswered questions. You hope that the answers will be found in the next story which is It Wakes In Me. More characters are introduced in this story and are equally well groomed. Returning characters are developed further. The answers are still not quite clear but the reader is able to gain some insight on the true political scandal that is in place in the Black Falcon Nation. Even a new romance begins to spawn its intricate web around our characters. Kathleen has once again amazed me at her masterful way of telling a story worthy of the best-sellers list. I can not wait to read the final book (It Dreams In Me) to gain the conclusion that I so desperately want. To gain the answers that eludes me. And to follow the characters that I have instantly fallen in love with.
The story again leaves you with unanswered questions but the good news is that there is a third book to this journey and a conclusion to Sora's story.

According to the tradition of the Black Falcon People, each person has three souls: the eye soul, which stays with the body forever; the shadow soul, where all evil is leeched and shed at death; and the reflection soul, where the spirit lives on among the Blessed ancestors in the Land of the Dead, pure and clean. On rare occasions, a shadow soul can take over a stranger?s body and commit hideous crimes.
Sora, the High Chieftess of the Black Falcon Nation, has been plagued with blackouts and fits since her seventh winter. As her world goes black, two gleaming eyes burn inside her. Sora calls these occurrences the Midnight Fox; she remembers nothing of what happens when they take her. Now rival clans have accused her of seven murders, including the killing of her friend, the Loon People?s war chief. As animosity toward Sora and the Black Falcon Nation abounds, she must find the necessary healing for her soul and mind, the courage to lead her people, and the strength to save her own life.
