THANK YOU!

Once upon a time, I was a young mother with two children, and I was so organized in my life. I had a schedule, and I had children who thrived on a schedule. My husband enjoyed our life of being organized. Then God called us to homeschool and have a large family. Now, I am a mom of 6, and I homeschool, and I have a business. That's a lot to organize. I do a good job in some ares of our lives, such as paying bills on time. But organizing school-related stuff, I am not as good at keeping things in order. "Homeschooling at the speed of life" has helped me figure out where to start organizing, and it is written in an uncomplicated manner. Thank you, Marilyn, for a great book full of your wisdom. You are a Titus 2 woman to many. The CD-ROM at the end of the book is such a great resource.

The Best Home Education Resource!

I have read a LOT of home education books and this by far has been the most enjoyable and most helpful. I just finished the book and look forward to using the CDrom to print up some helpful forms to keep our home running smoothly.

The author gives helpful questions and devotional style questions at the end of each wonderful chapter. I will recommend this to everyone I know who is interested in enjoying their family while keeping a handle on the dailiness of life!

This book will teach you how to organize your home so it will run smoothly and you'll have more time for what is truly important...your Family!

Help from an Experienced, Wiser Friend

One of the most practical books I've read in a long, long time! People mistakenly believe that the hardest part of homeschooling is the actual teaching time. To the contrary, I would love to just teach and then hire a maid, cook, and laundress! Squeezing it ALL into just 24 hours is what is most difficult for any mom.

Marilyn's book is different from other household management books I've read. Most of those books assume that your primary goal is keeping an efficient, orderly, immaculate home. As you keep your home clean, you somehow squeeze in your other motherly, wifely tasks. Marilyn reverses the priorities. Your responsibilites to your husband and children come first. But by maintaining an orderly home environment you can do a better job of ministering to and with them. There's no major guilt trip here to make your home ready at any moment in time for the inspectors from a Beautiful Home contest. Rather there is encouragement and lots of practical tips to help you become better organized to fulfill the specific roles God has called you to in this season of your life.

Marilyn writes in an easy-to-read, humorous manner. Reading it is like sitting down for a chat with a loving friend who has walked this path before you and wants to help you along the way.

Practical, do-able advice for getting organized!

Marilyn has written an instruction manual for homeschool moms to get organized, stay organized, be good stewards of our time, and enjoy our families more. The best part is that, chapter-by-chapter, she leads the reader through manageable steps for discerning our priorities and setting goals, conquering clutter, training our children, and streamlining daily routines. Marilyn's insights on the spiritual benefits of order and wise stewardship in our lives, and her devotional tie-ins at each chapter's end, have blessed me beyond what other time management/organizational strategy "self-help" books and systems have done for me in the past. Marilyn writes in such a down-to-earth, encouraging style, that I have the sense of a dear, older (wiser) friend gently guiding as I read and cheering me on to reach higher, press on, as I begin to implement the simple organizational methods shared in the book. Every homeschool mom -- if not every mom -- will benefit from reading Homeschooling at the Speed of Life!

What should I do next; grade the math test or tackle the laundry? Homeschooling at the Speed of Life gives busy homeschooling mothers a thoughtfully thorough resource for bringing order back to their home. In tune with today's pace, the book provides basic home-management principles, teaching parents how to de-clutter their homes, develop life skills in their children, tame the paper monster, and keep organized records.

Also emphasized are ways to build relationships and use the home as a center for hospitality and outreach. The book even includes Rockett's easily adaptable File-a-Plan organizing system on a bonus CD-ROM. Homeschooling moms will be keeping up with their good work in no time!
