Purchased this book for a class

I would never recommend this book for the "enjoyment of reading." It is strictly a college level text and not fun.

Great resource for teachers

I would like to take the time to say that this book is perhaps one of the most helpful resources for teachers. It really shows how teachers should be culturally aware of their students and how to best adapt lessons and activities to suit the needs of the students.

This text studies the cross-cultural roots of minority child development in their ancestral societies in a systematic way. It enlists insiders' and outsiders' perspectives on socialization and development in a diverse sampling of the world's cultures, including developing regions.
