Book of Courage and Hope

For anyone who has had to overcome enormous obstacles in their life, Barbara Jorgensen's "novelized" autobiography is a gritty look at a young girl growing up in Southern California. Her courage in confronting her past and the pain she endures through her losses is an inspiration to everyone. She should be commended for her belief in God and how powerful her faith has enabled her to achieve peace in her life. I highly recommend this book.

Clear Truth- Joan Marie Elms

The reason why I value Amy's Journey at 5 stars is because of it's clarity. It is so easy to walk through Amy's life with her because of the clear text. It is obviously a statement of truth. The truth is in Amy's endless faith. Amy went through horrer in her life. The last page of Amy's Journey proves Amy's faith is real and based in truth. She survived with joy which is always the proof that Christ is present. I identified with Amy. I saw my own life on so many pages.

Couldn't put it down....

Once I started reading this book, I couldn't put it down....I was anxious to learn/read more as I finished each page...the author's memorialization of her life was compelling, raw, painful, yet rendered hope for the reader...if the author overcame such odds, perhaps I could....the book draws you in to share the emotions and uncontrollable factors which impacted the author's life, for better or worse.

Attitude is Everything

Not many people will endure the variety of tragedy that Amy endures early in her life, but fewer will handle it in such a triumphant way. I enjoyed the honesty with which the book was written, and I can see how this book could be helpful to anyone dealing with less than desirable life circumstances.

Amy's difficult journey

Barbara Jorgensen tells this story in such an honest, open way. It is hard to imagine how Amy must have felt enduring such hardship. She is a character to be admired in terms of how she finally learned how to deal with all that happened. It made me appreciate how much she had to overcome.

Born into a troubled family, emotionally scarred by her father?s battle with mental illness, young Amy nonetheless believed deep in her heart that she could change her father and make him love her.
