I was not disappointed.

I admit I was not familiar with William Matthews but I have a great interest in the American West and so I took a chance on this book. I was not disappointed.You can feel the cold of the winters and you feel a respect for the work of the men in his art. I am very pleased with this book.

When you think of watercolor do you think of lily ponds and washed out landscapes? William Matthews will change your mind.

Mathews expresses as much depth and strength in watercolors as anything I've seen in oils. His work is traditional without being cliché or boring.

A must have for your coffee table at the ranch.
