So What's the Difference?

This book is concise enough for the average reader to hold interest, yet contains enough facts and links to related articles, that it will fill the more avid reader's appetite for solid evidence and thorough knowledge to be trustworthy and useful for instruction.

Well done

This book is very straight forward and shows all the major differences between most of the world religons with out being thousands of pages long. I found it to be very helpful and informative. The author is strictly informative and factual.

Easy to understand

This is a great book for getting a very general idea of a few of the major religions of the world. He is a children's & youth writer so it is very basic & easy to understand. It is written from a Christian perspective so if that offends you, you may want to look elsewhere. Don't expect an in depth study. It is great if you just want a basic over-view though. It covers Islam, Hinduism, Christianity (Protestant, Catholic, & Eastern Orthodox), Judaism, Mormanism, Jahovah Witness, Humanism, Witchcraft, & several others. I loved this book but it just sparked my interest on the subject of apologetics & world religions. This is a great jumping off book. I have moved now to more in-depth books but I was very happy with this one as a starter & quick reference.

So that's the difference...

Ridenour probably wouldn't sit next to me in church but he has compiled a good elementary look into other religions. I don't know that I agreed with his classification of cults versus religion so maybe he should do away with the distinction in the book.

Overall I got what I was looking for but this is certainly not an unbiased look at all religions.

comparison of religions

This simple book, easy to read, is a good reference for anyone wanting a comparison of the world religions. It is fair and balanced.

So What's the Difference has been revised and updated for the 21st Century to help Christians better understand their own beliefs. A classic first released in 1967, this revision takes a current look at the answer to the question, "How does orthodox biblical Christianity differ from other faiths?" In a straightforward, non-critical comparison, Fritz Ridenour explores and explains the basic tenets of 20 worldviews, religions and faiths, including Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, Jehovah's Witnesses, Christian Science, New Age and Mormonism.
