great teaching aid

I bought this to help students with biology vocabulary words on the high school level. It is fun to look up word parts. I hope it is helpful to the students to get familiar with the meanings of the different words parts.

Pocket sized gem

This pocket sized book should be required for any high school or beginning college biology course. Memorizing words can only get you so far in your understanding. This little book unlocks the meaning which is commonly associated with the function of biological terms. When you understand the meaning of a word or root you can apply that understanding to other words you encounter during your study. The price is right too!

...just a tad overpriced but worth it. it's exactly what i was looking for: a comprehensive index of word roots and nothing else.

A Classic

Although there are more detailed books of this kind which Amazon carries, I purchased this classic for a budding physician who is a scribe in our local hospital. It is one I used in nursing school and in medical transcription. Part sentiment, part a simple introduction to roots. He was exceedingly grateful and pleased with the book.
