From someone who's used this book

For years I've been looking for a book like this. Designed for students of Spanish who wish to bring their Spanish to a VERY advanced level, this book will teach you the subtleties of the seeming myriad of Spanish subordinating constructions. You'll finally learn how to finish all those sentences you could never quite finish before. And with each construction he presents, Dr. Campos explains the subtleties of the use of indicative v. subjunctive mode, and introduces a refreshingly simple way to understand when the subjunctive should be used. He also takes care to introduce coordinating and subordinating structures that are often confused and/or have multiple meanings depending on the context. Campos points out the differences between structures, and indicates where to find more information about the construction in question. And don't skip the footnotes-some of the most interesting information is hidden there! Be prepared to push your Spanish to the limit with this must-have book for advanced Spanish learners.

A big help to take that last step

I was preparing for the DELE's Diploma Superior and this book provided me with the advanced grammatical knowledge that I was lacking from the typical textbooks used in Intermediate and Advanced College Spanish. Hundreds of exercises on the different constructions will make you learn that elusive difference between subjunctive and indicative as well as the multiple uses of the rich conjunction system of Spanish and of all its numerous tenses. There is an answer book that goes with the text (it costs only $5) which contains some good charts and lists of all the conjunctions discussed in the text. This book is a must for all Spanish majors and anyone interested in crossing that threshold between advanced and postadvanced Spanish.
