Salmon Creek

Text and illustrations are so beautiful. I first bought the book for a grandchild, then bought the same book for two other grandchildren and two adult friends and one for myself!!!!

Excellent Story

I highly recommend Salmon Creek. It is an excellent resource for learning about the salmon in a rich poetic story form. The beautiful artwork enhances the story and there is more factual information, including a timeline, at the end of the book.

All phases of Sumi's life are shown, from her trip downriver to the ocean; to her time as a mature fish swimming in the great seas; to the most mysterious period in her life cycle, the determined return against great obstacles to the remote creak of her birthplace. Thousands of people come to witness the last great moments in the lives of salmon because it is such a moving and interesting phenomenon.
