Extraordinarily well-written, powerful and moving.

Although slightly biased, as the author's daughter, I cannot help feeling this is one of the best books I have ever read. Set in a medieval monastery, it shows the struggle of the brothers living there and how they deal with them. The book shows how through our weakness we are made strong, and how through handicap and humility, we overcome adversity. The spiritual journey one goes through on reading this book is amazing. Every time I read it, I find it uplifting, thought-provoking and deeply moving. It is also very funny, and often makes me laugh out loud. I recommend it to anybody, along with the other two in the trilogy - The Hawk And The Dove, and The Long Fall. (Both available from Amazon.)

These captivating tales of monastic life are stories of disillusionment, grief, and despair, as well as hope amid trial, and all consuming love of a passionate and tender God. Rich with imagery and emotion, they reflect the timeless human drama of people learning to love and receive God's grace. Sequel to The Hawk and the Dove.
