Good

This book has so many ideas and themes running through it, and they were portrayed wonderfully. Although a little confusing in the beginning (and almost through the first reading) the themes and images are sharp and poignant. I like the idea of the fluidity of identity, be it religious, gender, or racial. Tomson Highway explores these themes in a very creative and thought provoking manner.

I am Thompson Highway!

I wrote this book back in '86 to cover a debt incurred during a rousing game of Kaiser in the Oshawa Tim Horton's. I never thought it would become so popular and I thank everyone especially Dr. Emily Moore, Professor of Latino-Apache Sesqueology at McGill University, for her undying support. She's a real firecracker!

Nominee, Governor General's Literary Award for Drama

Dry Lips Oughta Move to Kapuskasing tells another story of the mythical Wasaychigan Hill Indian Reserve, also the setting for Tomson Highway's award winning play The Rez Sisters. Wherein The Rez Sisters the focus was on seven "Wasy" women and the game of bingo, Dry Lips Oughta Move to Kapuskasing features seven "Wasy" men and the game of hockey. It is a fast-paced story of tragedy, comedy, and hope.
