Great book for saving the little budget you have

This book was given to me as a graduation gift from my youth ministry professor. I read it and I loved it. It really helped me to think creatively and be aware of the special needs of a small church. Thanks so much Rick Chromey for seeing a need and meeting it. Sometimes it seems the small church is over looked. If you are new in ministry or just new in a small church, this will help. Lay leader or paid professional.

This book made me look at my ministry in a new light.

This book focuses on the positive aspects of having a smaller youth group. It gives you new persective on how to measure the sucess of a ministry. Finally, it gives creative ideas on how to deal with the "limitations" and challenges that a small youth minstry create. Thanks Rick! This book was bought as an addition to our church's library but I am hoping I can buy a personal copy soon since I will have to return this one eventually.

Great book for those new to ministry

I read this book hoping for more. It really is just a book about what youth ministry is like and it also throws some stuff in there about small churches. For me, most of what was said in the book was pretty obvious. So, while I say this wasn't the book for me, it would be a good purchase for someone completely new to ministry and at a small church.

As a volunteer youth leader in my small Baptist church, I found the ideas to fit, and the author's attitude to be very positive and supportive. If you are considering being a youth leader or are looking for some fresh insight into the role, this book is for you. It will change the way you think about the challenge, and it may help you to change the way your church approaches its youth ministry.
