Buy it if you have a bad back

Wow, it works. I've always used the old abdominal exercises when my back pained me. I still think they should be done after you relieve the pain which this does much faster. I have DDD & from time to time my back acts up for a reason or for no reason at all & this takes away the pain faster. Now if I just had the disclipine to do my back strengthing exercises when it didn't hurt I could likely avoid a re-ocurance. Buy it, follow the instructions & when the pain is gone try & follow a back strengthening program for life, yes Virginia, for life or you'll be using this book again.

Great therapy

After spending a lot of money on physical therapy, one therapist finally told me about the teaching of Robin Mckenzie, and then told me that she was using his therapy on me and my exercise's I've been doing. That prompted the purchase, It's a great refresher! So give this a try, it works!

I must have bought 10 copies over the years

This is a great little book. I lend it out constantly and lose a few in the process to be replaced by a purchase from Amazon. I continue to use it myself as I fall back into old habits. Practical and easy to follow.

Worked for me!

I strained my back helping an aged relative get to her feet from a chair (never again). This time I thought I had really done it to myself. Went to the sports medicine doc affiliated with my GP's group. He ruled out anything like surgery and sent me to PT. The therapist suggested the McKenzie book and started me with the exercises suggested therein. I continued them on my own and after three visits discontinued the PT. Now whenever I screw myself up I do an exercise or two a few times each and I'm back to being myself again. Worked for me!

Helpful....

Whilst most of the stretches in the book are not new, and most have seen them before, the sequence seems to be key. This definately made my back 75% better, and probably would have done more if I have stuck to the exercises. I definately recommend this. A couple of criticism, the book is written very basically, however, it is organised so badly that as you read it, it starts off on certain exercises and then later on in the book tells you to only do them after you have done those exercises later in the book. It does not tell you this in the beginning so you can end up hurting yourself more in the short run. Even if you read the entire book first, it is very nebulous as to where several of the exercises fit in.
Other than that, highly recommended!...
