So few humorists these days, esp. golf humorists, are able to come up with a new, fresh, inventive approach to their subject. On this point, deVere scores a perfect ten! The main character of these short-short golf stories and impressive color drawings is a TERRIBLE golfer, yet in his ignorance and singularly UNself-awarness we glimpse something like hope in our own attempts to master the game. A must read for anyone who's ever wanted to break their five iron over their knee
