provocative, thought inducing , a very necessary book.

Seductive Illusions made me think about what our institutions aren't doing for individuals.... and what needs to be done to help us help others. Fascinating reading that changed my concepts of truth and reality.

A non-fiction social issues book, specifically about the major paradox in our modern society, i.e.: as societies grow larger and their institutions become increasingly powerful, the individual becomes progressively smaller, with decreasing control over the institutions they created. The book also addresses practical ways of coping with society's many "smoke and mirrors" that moves the individual further from reality. Retirement, assisted suicide, the environment, politics and the population are some of the issues critiqued.
