This critical board review resource is chock-full of over 1,200 internal medicine board-oriented questions for you to review before you physically sit for your exam, because, just as important as knowing your "stuff" is being psychologically prepared. Equally important, this review will prepare you for the "all except ", "next best step in management", and multiple choice-type questions and answers that are now customary on the exams. These Frontrunners "warm-up exercises" will prepare you well for the essential material that you can expect to find on the USMLE clinical steps 2 & 3 and the medicine boards. We've made every effort to make this as simple a resource as possible, with its thorough INDEX section, fully understanding that your time, by virtue of being a student, resident, or practicing internist (if nothing else!), is limited. In our efforts, therefore, to incorporate as much of this material as possible into your review in as succinct a manner as possible, you will find explanations to questions where explanations are due, and not simply to "just fill space". The explanations will not serve to simply reiterate the entire core of the syllabus, but rather to shed light as needed. Except for the length of the questions, which we've intentionally abbreviated in order for you maximize your content exposure in as little time as possible, you'll see that the substance of the material here intimately approximates that which you will see on your exam and will serve as the ideal litmus test of your readiness.
Having said all this, we also realize that there are individuals who have, over the years, grown weary of tedious self-study and who want to take advantage of a sit-down, "feed-me" style of board review, with much the same core material, all the key slides, cases, and more, even if the syllabus can come to them. For this reason we continue to offer our formal board review courses, which include 1) our WEEKEND MARATHON BOARD REVIEWS, covering 18 hours of intensive internal medicine review of all the subspecialties; and 2) our more detailed ULTIMATE BOARD REVIEW, a 4 month review covering 3.5h over 18 Sundays, and is available to physicians in the New York/tristate area. For details/registration on any of our internal medicine board review courses or to get the syllabus, CALL 866-MDBOARDs.
