Very impressed
I'm writing this simply because reviews do help buyers sway one way or another(if u have not written one, write one)on buying something, and thankfully enough people reviewed this book or i probably would not have bought it. I gave this book four stars simply because I'm a very though critic overall, and their is always room for improvement. Let me start off by saying that i have been a
zombie
fan since i saw the remake of Night OF THE LIVING DEAD (color) when i was six to eight years old, zombies themselves i don't think captivated me, it was the awkward situation these people where put in having to flee from these vacant bodies roaming around at two and a half miles per hour, it was the having to survive a sea of these foot dragging and shifting disease infested and plagued, walking dead!
One
day after
school, years later when i was in middle school having long forgotten zombies, i played a game called Resident Evil on the Playstation at my friends house, once again i became captivated by the re-animated corpses, Resident Evil 2 came out shortly and it sealed the deal. Now here i am, searching for anything zombie of quality material. Disappointment after disappointment swept for years when the RE movies came out, frankly they where garbage, i know their are some fans that liked the movies but i almost asked for my money back when the first one came out, i ditched school nervously as i sat in the theater waiting for the movie to start, and when the credits rolled i wished i would have stayed in class. It was my second semester at a JC when the remake of Dawn of the Dead came out, i craved for the movie for weeks until i finally saw it. I really liked it, it was worth the wait, and plenty of gambles in the movie that could have been disastrous for the survivors.28 days later was amazing! Something to really enjoy, the sequel was good, but ok. Shawn of the dead, a zombie comedy, i thought it was good, but it was one of those things that had great potential. After that, well things where pretty skimpy, i hated Land of the dead, diary of the dead was ok.
For all i knew everything had been drilled and drained when it came to zombies. Well, i was so wrong, i had not expanded my horizons. As i was unaware, their was dead literature both graphic and
novel
s. I was looking up the color night of the living dead dvd since i hadent seen it since i was a kid. Then i saw the cover for issue 50 of The Walking Dead a comic series, the cover stole the show as i was immediately sold, i read reviews they where positive, so i bought the first hard cover, when i purchased it, i saw the picture of this novel, so i read about it, but wasent sold, i understood maybe a zombie comic, because you could show all the deatail(but as i came to find out, the series was in black and white) but a zombie novel? I dident really wrap my mind around that concept, i thought it was to weird, but i gave it a try. I mostly only bought the book because with the hard cover i only had $20 in my basket, and in order to get free shipping, i had to spend an extra $5, so enter DBDA! Which ended up being a great decision. I enjoyed The Walking dead A LOT, i have all 3 hard covers.
When i started reading DBDA, i was turned off by the journal format, its some guys journal, so i knew from the start that he could not be infected of hurt to badly from the start because the journal kept going, then i realized, wait a minute, thats not really true, it could easily turn out many ways, like it being found, or passed on, or whatever the case etc. So i kept reading, the first maybe 30 to 40 pages where dragging along, maybe particularly at the beginning because the author of the journal( this is not really a spoiler)is from the military, so he uses some terms that i didn't know what the hell he ment. But soon after this mark, the book takes off. And ill leave it at that. The book is a good read if you're a zombie fan, their is plenty of moments in this book that make it worth the read and the buy. So why the big set up to only say the book is a good read? I just wanted to establish I'm a fan like many of you. And this book hold strong. If you are interested, I do recommend The walking Dead. I can vouch for the First Hard cover vol. i have 2&3 but have not read them. Currently Im reading World War Z, but it sells itself, it already has a lot of reviews to help you decide if you want to buy it. This is a good book! good buy for zombie fans!

All the awesome reviews are accurate.
It's really, truly an awesome
zombie book
. It's hard to compare the great zombie books (everyone has different tastes) but I'd rate it as good as, maybe better than "World War Z". I also think it's as good as "Xombies" (but not everyone liked that one as much as I did).
It's a great book. Even if you just enjoy the horror genre and not zombie stories in particular, you'll probably like this book.
I *cannot* wait for the sequel!!

Intense, Gripping and Completely Unforgettable

Armageddon
is a masterpiece of survival horror. This fictional diary of a man's struggle to stay alive in a post apocalyptic world full of the shuffling(and not so!)undead will chill you to the bone. The incredibly taut tension in this book of "no where to run to, nowhere to hide" jacks the suspense meter up to almost unheard of levels. The action is fast and furious with bullets flying, bodies falling and many hair raising escapes. I've read Max Brooks World War Z as well and while worthwhile it just didn't generate the type of "edge of my seat" feelings Day By Day Armageddon did. Yes the cover is cheesy but that's really the only bad thing i can say about it. If you're looking for some new horror to read i can't suggest this book more you'll love it.

Freakin' awesome!!!
This book grabs you from the beginning and doesn't let go. I could not stop this book until I found out what happend next. The author did a masterful job crafting the book to capture the horror of the
zombie apocalypse
. This book is a must have.
This is me, letting you know I think you should buy this book!
Ok, so this is my first review and I'm not going to get into plot detail and what not. Read the book, you'll learn the plot.
I will say that I'm in my 20s, I'm in the navy and I like
zombie
s. That being said, this was a great book. Everyone talks about the spelling errors and the grammer but it's written "journal style" by an average guy so it just adds to the realness of the book. I even think the fake stains and rips are a nice touch.
If you like zombies and people trying to survive in a world full of them, then this is the book for you!
