A Must Have Book

The difference between clutter and organization has to do with our habits and our systems. This book really inspired me to let go of old habits and old possessions and develop new systems of organization. There were plenty of ideas and real life eamples to follow. I would recommend this book to anybody.

straight talk

this book is not just about uncluttering your desk, it's about uncluttering your attitude, about realizing a more proactive approach to work and creating an all-around more empowered relationship with work. completely liberating!!

Is this about my desk?

After reading Sue Brenner's book "the naked desk" I looked at my own desk and shouted an internal scream. Did she have a 6th sense that she knew that she was talking about "our" desk? My husband who never obsesses as much as I do just said that he was "lamenting the laminate." I said, "What laminate?"

My standard line is that I accumulate a lot of very important pieces of paper and I will "file" them on top of my desk until I get to them (two months later). I am the queen of procrastination and not proud of it. It is compounded by the fact that my husband works from home and on a daily basis has pilesw of "important" papers.

We took Susie's advice and took one pile at a time. We filed and made new files. We thought about how to name the files so that we would remember them. With Sue's practical advice we went through the desk and "voila" we finally found the laminate.

Excellent focus on root causes of procrastination

Great reminders of how to be more organized and effective. Brief, to the point and accessible. I especially found the focus on the many causes of procrastination very useful.

It just makes you fell better

Has some great ideas. I just feel better now that I dont have all my junk on the desk. Clean lines no distractions. Looks cool also. Some will not be able to handle being naked Im sure.
