Stars of Jewish thought
The B'nai B'rith series of books on
Jewish
thought
provides clear basic outlines of the thinking of major Jewish figures of the modern era. The approach is eclectic and there is an effort to draw from all streams of Judaism. Each chapter is a good introduction which might lead to fuller effort to understand the thinker in question, which when they are like Rabbis Kook and Soloveitchik well known.
