Betrayals by Anita Foster Lovely - A fast read!

The best book I've read in ages, Betrayals by Anita Foster Lovely is actually two books in one. Part is written about the past with runaway slaves struggling to get to the north for freedom, and part is in modern Philadelphia and South Jersey with very present day office and personal problems. It's blended together perfectly so that you find new excitment each time you reach a new chapter. You don't just flip the pages and read the words; you feel the emotions and re-live your own comparable experiences. You feel anger, love, sadness, depression, hostility and happiness for the true-to-life characters.

Not Only For Women

I was hesitant to read Betrayals because it sounded like a girlie book. A friend suggested I read it so I took a chance. Boy am I glad that I did. The characters and plot are developed in a way that makes this book of interest to guys also. It has the typical "girlie" themes of love, friends sharing and whether or not to "give it up" but it is done in a way that keeps your attention and crosses the gender line.

Bottom line is that if you're a guy you should take a chance and read this book. Might help you learn something about the opposite sex and how to strengthen your relationships.

Totally Awesome! A Poignant Story about Sex Issues!

What a moving story about real issues relating to sex! This is stuff that most people just whisper about. I checked out the author's website (something about lovely publishing) and found that it is based on an event in her life. It brought tears to my eyes. But by the end of the book, I was smiling. I wish there was a sequel to Betrayals.

AN INTERESTING, AND HISTORICAL READ

AN AMAZING BOOK ABOUT LIFE TODAY, AND YESTERYEAR INTERTWINED. WILL KEEP YOU UP READING UNTIL YOU'RE FINISHED, AND THEN WANTING MORE. A FASCINATING STORY ABOUT HOW INTERESTING HISTORICAL EVENTS CULMINATE INTO A PRESENT DAY FAMILY'S STRUGGLE WITH RACISM, WORK, FAMILY VALUES, AND MORE. YOU KNOW THESE CHARACTERS. YOU RELATE, AND FIND YOURSELF EMPATHISING WITH THEIR STRUGGLES, AND CELEBRATING THEIR TRIUMPHS. BRAVO TO AN INTERESTING,AND HISTORICAL READ.

Highly Recommended Reading!

What an outstanding and refreshing literary piece! This story is about things people think about, but are afraid to talk about. I felt really close to the characters while reading the book; and now I want to hear more about them. I miss them. Although it's about some of life's harsh realities, it is a warm and unique story. I highly recommend it to anyone that appreciates good literature.
