The Coldest Winter Ever-Pure Captavating!

I just finished the coldest winter ever, and i must say that it was one of the most captivating books I've read in a long while. i couldn't put it down til i was finished taking only short breaks to snack. i had to find out what was going to happen next and how Winter was going to get out the predicament that she was in. The end of the book however was slightly disappointing i wanted more, i wanted there to be happiness, the fairy tale happy ending. Although all the loose ends were tied up i felt as if there should have been something else, the ending left me wishing it was different. I wanted Winter to get what she wanted in the end, and ultimately the events leading to the end were so sudden, the book was over before i had time to put everything together in my mind. I only hope the long awaited squeal with fill my need to know what ever happened to Winter Santiaga and if she ever did turn out right.... On the other hand i suppose that Sister Souljah couldn't have gave Winter the happy ending i so hoped that she would receive. That would simply defeat the purpose of the lesson she was trying to teach. Everyone always want the protagonist to come out with everything they were striving to succeed but Souljah didn't do that. Which is another reason why i think her book was and is one of the best books of our time.

Great gritty story about life in the hood

This is an excellent read. Well written, you actually feel for the characters. I think after this book was published many of the "urban" novels started popping up trying to tell the story of life in the hood. This is actually good though. Talks of it being made into a screen play with Jada Pinkett Smith involved.

I've read this book atleast 4 to 5 times over the years and Its still just as good as the firt time I read it. I just finished reading it again when I found out about part 2. I am so ready to read the sequel!!

this book got me back to reading

when i started this book i have never read a book out side of a school assignment.i read the book in like 2 days i didn't sleep. i lived a smiler kind of life so i could relate to it very well.when i was finished with this book i wanted to pick it up and read it again. i think everyone should read this book and understand that this kind of stuff is really out there and being a person who actually had a smiler life to winters i can tell you that getting out and asking for help is not as easy as people may think.
