Pretty Good Study Guide

With a "passing score guaranteed," and good reviews on Amazon, I figured I had nothing to lose by getting the Kaplan CSET, 2nd Edition study guide. The Kaplan CSET study guide has some good test-taking strategies and information that I found helpful for Subtest One, which I took on Jan. 12, 2008. However, Kaplan CSET doesn't cover everything that could possibly be on the test, and there were some questions on the test that were not covered in the book. Fortunately I used other resources as well, so I wasn't totally in the dark. So while I recommend Kaplan CSET and think it's a good study guide, I also recommend supplementing it with other study guides, textbooks, online research and other study tools.

not focused enough for me

This book didn't work for how I study, I need something more focused. It does have lots of good info, just very overwhelming in how it is presented.

Excellent!

This is interesting stuff! I only had a week to study, and I passed because of this book. Had I had more time, I would have studied more, and the time would not have been wasted.
The authors know what you need to learn to pass the CSET multiple subjects tests, and they present the material well.

You'll pas if you use other materials too.

This product merely introduces topics, offers a brief summary and recommends intenet websites. If you are like I am and haven't discussed these topics since the 6th grade, you will want to consult other CSET study guides as well.

Worked for me

I took a CSET class at Cal State Hayward 2-3 weeks prior to the test and used this as reference and passed. There's no way you'll be able to memorize all the material if you're pressed for time, particularly science. I'd suggest taking the smaller sub practice tests at the end of each chapter, see where you're weak, then study those areas. Once you study, re-do the big test at the end. Find a class if you can.
