Good sheet music, horrible CD - violin version

The sheet music is acceptable, and is arranged for about Grade 2 level. But the CD is absolutely horrible. It's more like musack (sp?) than anything. It's nearly useless as a teaching aid. Fortunately we're good enough musicians to be able to sight read the sheet music.

Pirate Violin

I personally really enjoy the musical score for Pirates of the Carribean. The only problem I have with this is the accompanying cd, it sounds cheap to me, and I was hoping to have better background music to play with.

Decent

My music students perform a movie recital each year. Both the Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings music has been exceptional. This book contains music from the first two movies of Pirates and is somewhat repetitive. My main disappointment was that it does not have a separate demo track and play along track. The xylophone plays the part on each track (as opposed to the violin which is the part I purchased) and you are supposed to turn off your right feed speaker to delete the part for the student to play with. Having said all that, my students are enjoying the music immensely and only I notice the synthesized orchestra background. It will work--just not the quality I expected.

Not until the world's end

Cool! Although this book only includes the songs of the 1st and 2nd POTC movies. Will they publish the violin book of "At World's End?"
