Great coffee table book

My one and only complaint about this book is that there is no index of the people who are quoted. It is alphabetical by quoter's last name, so it's not much of a difference.

The Author ruins this book

Great quotes but cited very poorly. At some points I was wondering if some of this was doctored just to fit his view. I'm an atheist and I found this book to be a bit elementary. I had a real problem with the author's sarcastic jabs in the middle of quotes. Leave the quote alone Mr. Huberman, it stands on it's own just fine - we don't need your sub par wit to guide us along. He really ruined it for me and weakens the case, in my opinion, for Atheism.

Good Book/ Could Have Been Better

The Quotable Atheist is indeed ammunition for the skeptic, freethinker, anti-theist, hell, even deist, but as most think tanks know, what's the point in a quote if you don't know the source. Jack Huberman did a great job at collecting quotes. Even theist are included in this book which is good to know when you need to site religious extremism, probably a bullet point under reasons your skeptical in the first place. I wasn't keen on the interjections throughout the book, some humorous but most overkill; and again, you have your work cut out for you. Be prepared to trace these quotes back to their original source if you plan to use them in scholarly writing or if you're like me and need to be prepared in case you're called on it, i.e., in debates, arguments, sincere inquiry, boasting etc. If you want a good read, one full of quotes and one that actually sites its source, I recommend 2000 Years of Disbelief.

Good quote book

I really liked this book. As an atheist, it's great. For anyone else, I have the feeling that they would end up offended.
